Before joining Permanent Capital Ventures, Joan had a multi-decade career focused on tax, financial and operational strategy in the financial services industry.

Joan was Principal of 633East Consulting, a consulting firm focused on financial and operational strategy and data analytics in family office and financial services middle market companies experiencing transactional change through high growth or restructurings. Joan also served as CFO and Equity partner at two PE-owned national wealth management RIAs: The Mather Group (15 offices and $10 billion AUA) and Cerity Partners (8 offices and $30 billion AUA). Prior, Joan was a Management Consultant in EY’s Reorganization & Restructuring Financial Advisory Group, providing operational, financial and tax management services.

She received her Bachelor of Accounting from University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, and Master of Finance and Master of Taxation from DePaul University. Joan holds executive education certificates in Data Science for Executives (University of California Berkeley) and Internet of Things: Business Implications and Opportunities (MIT). She currently resides in Chicago with her husband and three children.
